Sorry to hear you’ve been finding things difficult recently Kat ❤️ I think the wildly erratic weather has a lot to do with all of our intense energy peaks and troughs at the moment. I feel like I spend at least 50% of my days thinking about a nap! I found the post-COVID fatigue just unbearable when I had it in December – take it easy and let your body do its thing. And, I’m wishing you all the best with your therapy journey!
I feel like I’m just coming out of a long period of the wobbles. I felt super unmoored and unmotivated for much of the year so far, but my boyfriend recently asked me to move in with him(!!) and it’s strangely catalysed change and motivation for me. What’s feeling easy? I finally feel settled at work and really love what I do and who I team up with to do it! x
Thank you so much for reading Michelle! Yessss, a colleague of mine actually wrote about this concept of 'weather whiplash' on Happiful and how it can affect us, so I have no doubt this isn't helping things. Sorry you've experienced post-covid fatigue too, I feel like so many people are in this boat (and I know I've had it easy compared to others) - there's just a lot of energy management to figure out 😅 That is so exciting about moving in with your boyfriend! I agree, these big changes can do wonders for motivation. So pleased you're feeling settled at work too, this makes such a difference to the everyday 🙌
So good wasn't it? I finished it this weekend and was very close to tears for those final couple of chapters, such great characters. And thank you, carving out quiet times at the weekends is helping 🙌
It’s so lovely to read a post from you Kat! So strange because I agree with so much of your list, even things like sleep which I haven’t had issues with ever and I’ve struggled so much recently. Also been enjoying summer dressing when usually I love autumn clothes more! (Been enjoying racer vests and also got a colourful cami - enjoying colours and white rather than the blacks and greys I have worn for years!). Ans reading, so loving it! I will take a look at your goodreads, I read Meredith, Alone which was a great read. I will admit, work has been a stress and just not been enjoying it at all (the opposite to be honest!) and what has been easy has been creating again! I’ve been painting and just enjoying it so much. And also connecting with other like minded people so I’ve joined a few online communities (for neurodiverse people and also one for simple living) which has been easier than I imagined. Take care Kat, also sleep tips, I would say sometimes shaking up what you know so I always thought journaling and having a warm shower helped me before bed but to be honest I think it wires my mind up more! I’ve found stretching the ignored places in my body, gratitude and a short coming into my body meditation has helped me the most ☺️ enjoy your July!
Oh thanks so much Han! How interesting you're experiencing some similar things, I hope work becomes less stressful though. Creating and connecting both sound like good antidotes to stress though, I find having some sort of creative outlet outside of work can help me gain perspective when things get stressful. Thank you for the sleep tips - I think you're right about journaling, sometimes I do wonder if it just gets my mind whirring too much so I'm going to try and mix that up and maybe do it during the day instead. Love the sound of a stretch, gratitude moment and meditation, will give those a try for sure ❤️

Ahhhh I recently read Bellies too. A very touching, moving & unusual story. Hope you feel more rested soon Kat!

This made me think about my own difficult and easy now. I enjoyed reading this and thank you for sharing with us. I might even write my own list. 🫶🏻
Ah I'm glad it prompted some reflection! And thank you again for sharing over on Instagram 🥰
